APOD 1.1

This amazing image, posted on apod.nasa.gov on August 20, 2013, shows an incredible solar eclipse that occurred last year. The black spot is Venus eclipsing our Sun, technically a "Venusian annular eclipse." The Sun looks so trippy because it was imaged in three colors of ultraviolet light, creating this extraordinary image. I chose this picture of the Venus eclipse because I have been seeing Venus a lot in the night sky lately with stargazing, and was interested in seeing it from a different perspective.
