On Monday night, I went out and saw the iridium flare at 8:12 at night. Unfortunately, it was cloudy near the moon where the flare was supposed to occur but right on time I could still see the satellite get really
bright through the clouds, but it faded quickly. I was so glad I got to see it, though, that I went on the heavens-above website to see when the next one was. It turned out to be at 6:18 on Thursday morning, near Polaris. Emma and I went out to see it that morning. We also enjoyed seeing Orion out in the morning; it was really clear and we could see every star even in the sash of the belt. On Friday as I left for school, I saw Orion outside again and the Summer Triangle. The moon was so cool Friday morning, it was low and large and orange. I've realized I like early morning stargazing as much as I like nighttime stargazing.
