This post was the APOD on December 13, 2013, and is titled "Geminid Meteor Shower over Dashanbao Wetlands." It depicts the annual Geminid meteor shower from last year, on December 14, 2012. The many streaks pictured above are a result of a three-hour exposure. I chose this image because I recently presented a project that included research on meteors and meteor showers, so any picture with it still catches my eye. What's cool about this picture is that you can see Jupiter on the right and Orion in the center as well as the meteors.
