APOD 4.2

I chose this picture, "Mars Red and Spica Blue," because it's a sight I look for every morning. :) These celestial partners really are a beautiful spectacle to wake up to, along with Venus across the sky. Mars has been close to Earth in its orbit around the sun lately, and it is reaching its brightest of 2014 next week. Spica, I remember, was very bright in the summer, setting early in the evening. It is one of the brightest blue stars in the night (or early morning) sky. As this picture was taken all the way in Sweden, these two were captured just after sunset.
