Observation 2.3

On Sunday night, November 3, there was a stargazing session from 7 to 8:30! It was awesome to go after having seen the partial solar eclipse at sunrise that morning. We observed new fall constellations, such as Pegasus, Casseiopeia, and Andromeda. We located the Andromeda galaxy with the telescope, along with Venus, a few M objects, and Uranus! Uranus only looked like a tiny blue star even through the telescope because it is so far away, but it was still amazing to be able to view it at all. Emma and I located a bright and colorful scintillating star near the horizon as it rose, which Mr. Percival confirmed for us was Capella. We also viewed the two stars through the telescope and observed the colors, which I still firmly hold to be lemon yellow and cornflower blue.
